F5 and F55 upgrades
Sony’s first round of major upgrades for the F5 and F55 have been released and our cameras are now up to date.
The new firmware includes the new SStP SR codec for shooting very high quality HD to SxS cards. The SR files are the tapeless equivalent quality of HDCAM SR tapes. The three codec options are:
SStP SR SQ 444 (440 Mbs) – uncompressed sampling
SStP SR SQ 422 (440 Mbs)
SStP SR Lite 422 (220 Mbs)
