The Sony Venice 2 has a 8K full frame sensor with dual base ISO of 500 and 3200 ISO, which can be switched to the original 6K Venice sensor to allow for higher frame rates. The body incorporates AXSM slots directly and can record X-OCN RAW and 4K ProRes 4444 internally.

Why should you hire the Sony VENICE 2?
The Sony VENICE 2 is a high-end digital cinema camera, offering a number of interesting features and capabilities for DPs and Cinematographers, and there are several reasons why you may want to consider renting the VENICE 2.
There are several significant differences between the Sony VENICE 2 and the Sony VENICE:
- Although the VENICE 2 has an 8K sensor block, it can be adapted to a full frame 6K sensor block.
- With 8 stops of internal ND filters, the camera is a ‘game-changer’ offering speedy adjustments to a wide variety of setups.
- The VENICE 2 features Sony’s new S-Cinetone colour science.
- The updated modular design in this updated version of the Cine camera has internal recording capabilities, all within a smaller body.
- The full-frame sensor in the VENICE 2 features a full-frame 36x24mm sensor, which allows for stunning image quality with a shallow depth of field, as well as excellent low-light performance.
- The VENICE 2 boasts a dynamic range of 15+ stops, which allows for capturing detail in both the brightest highlights and darkest shadows.
Although Sony is soon releasing the Rialto Extension system 2 for use with the VENICE 2, the original Sony VENICE Rialto Extension system is compatible with the VENICE 2 (when used with the 6K sensor block). This system allows you to separate the sensor and lens mount from the main body via a tethered cable, making it great for specialist rigs, such as gimbals and car mounts without any loss in quality over the standard all-in-one setup.
