Useful Information :: ATA Carnet Countries A carnet is a passport for goods and is required to prove that duty has been paid on all items taken temporarily out of the UK and that they are subsequently returned. The carnet proves that items have not been sold during travel and avoiding local taxes and duties. The purchaser of this document is buying a bond or insurance to pay the visited country any relevant taxes or duties on equipment not re-exported. The cost of the carnet is based on a percentage of the equipment value, countries visited and the duration. Please note: A minimum of 48 hours is normally required to prepare a carnet without incuring additional express arrangement fees. For further carnet information please follow these links:
