BSC Expo 2017 Top Picks: LEE ProGlass Cine IRND Filters

LEE’s new ProGlass Cine range of neutral-density filters caught our eye at this year’s BSC Expo at Battersea, London.

Available in two sizes and seven densities, they boast remarkable neutrality, eliminating infrared pollution and ensuring all colours remain accurate and true. This reduces the need for much colour shift in the grade, simplifying workflows and saving time. When using multi cam, we’re told they match exactly on ND level and IR cut. The filters are also scratch-resistant which in our opinion is a big positive. Manufactured from 4mm thick, optically flat glass, they’re edged with a metal rim and appear robust and durable.

They’re designed for digital production or shooting on film, and have been used on features such as Tomb Raider, The Avengers and the upcoming Robin Hood movie, as well as several UK based dramas.
